Strong metal frame and easy to DIY built
The media could not be loaded. The 3mx3m pergola is made of metal box sections with pre cut holes for putting together with screwdriver and wrench. The grey colour has a clean modern and blend in to green space very nicely. I managed to put it together in around 4 hours on my own, it will be a lot quicker with an extra pair of hands with the canopy. The metal structure is nice and strong, the metal plates at the pole going into the ground has holes for garden peg or ground screws. As long as all the bolts are fasten the structure will resists to wobble and will stand straight. The canopy is made of waterproof materials, rain will not get through etc. It block sun enough to create a cool shaded area in the summer. When not in use the canopy can be split in two from the middle, Velcro strap to tie down to stop it from flapping around in the wind etc. The folds in between the poles will trap some water and in fully closed position it will squeeze most of the water out.The canopy is not designed to be easily removed, each of the pole and middle section needs to be removed in order to take out the cloth which I am not happy about, I will have to make some changes to how the canopy is "hanged" as I like to take it off and put back on as and when needed.Overall it is a nice low budget pergola, can be built quickly and can be taken down easily as long as the bolt threads are not damaged. Now I need some nice garden furnitures to finish the luxury look.

Sturdy & solid with Great Functional Waterproof Sunshade
This was a challenging & heavy task to build. However, that is because it’s heavy parts mean it’s strong and sturdy.I’ve now been using this for a month. It provides good shade when positioned correctly. The fabric can be moved up and down each side - see pictures to track the sun.It provides privacy from neighbours as well.I’ve found I’m using my outdoor space so much more now I have this.I highly recommend this product, although only similar ones are available now under a different company name.My only criticism would be the fabric could have been a bit wider and go to the edges of the metal structure. I may yet add further fabric as time goes on. See how it lasts.Considering similar things (not as good in my opinion) are available in B&Q etc for double the price, I think this is great value, for a good simple, functional design.Has made my garden special & a more enjoyable outdoor space.

Worth it for the solid frame
We installed this on our new build house, not as a garden feature at first but as a sun shield as patio doors are totally in sun all day and this makes it hard to keep cool or see TV and we needed dark thick curtains inside to stop being blinded by sunlight. It wasn't as easy to get upright as others have said and we had to build concrete footings in ground and make sure we attached to house wall with ultra strong fittings and chains. The instructions are worse than awful for getting the canvas up and it took longer than it should have. However the top puuls easily together and the velcro to keep the two halves joined is super strong. The frame needed extra help to stop it moving so we also built planters on garden side legs, weighed down inside with sandbags. Our garden is narrow but subject to a lot of wind so we needed firm supports. We did not use the fittings supplied to tether it down as we used stronger concrete bolts. I painted all the fittings at the top with rain proof paint as one review said it might rust. All in all it was a pain to get right but is now stronger than expected and hopefully will last a couple of summers. It also matched perfectly our new builds windows and doors. The frame is so good that even if the canvas shreds we will consider putting a conservatory type solid roof on in future if it lasts.

It will rust, and quickly.
Be aware this pagoda will rust (photos are less than 2 weeks after putting it up). It is made of iron, the way it is packaged there will be small scratches regardless of how careful you are. The bigger problem however is water gets inside the horizontal segments, which are unpainted on this inside, and then orange rusty water will run out, leaving marks on the sides of the pagoda and potentially staining your patio. It is a bit much work and too large to take apart and store for temporary use also. However, it is very sturdy for the price, looks nice, and is a lot cheaper than an aluminium equivalent. So if you want to save some money, and don't mind some extra work, it could potentially still be a good buy. Expect to want to seal the gaps, and paint over at least the joints and scratches, although I painted it all. Hammerite Ultima Dark Grey Matt was a great colour match for mine (although this may vary for others if they use different paint for different batches). It has taken me several hours of remedial work so far and I am almost done. You will likely want to replace the hooks that hold the shade as these rust quickly too.

Not as wide as described
We put the pergola up yesterday, and to be fair, despite the usual dreadful instructions, 3 of us did it in a few hours. The size is described as 3m x 3m an external width of 2.7 is not 3m.The pergola is sturdy, we will be fixing it to the ground. The shade is a faff, you have to screw the ends and thread it through..plus again, due to the poor instructions, means we will have to take it off and re do it.We are however please how it looks, and will enjoy sitting underneath in the sun. May need some side blinds, but that is us.For the cost, worth a buy if you ignore the size.
