Expensive, but it works when some of the non-OEM batteries don't
I was trying to resurrect a Hero 5 Black that had the original (dead) battery and had never had a firmware update. Because it was running original firmware, it wouldn't power up with some non-OEM batteries that I ordered. So, I ordered this, crossed my fingers, and hoped that I hadn't just thrown more money at a broken camera. This OEM battery started the camera right up, and allowed me to do the firmware update.As an aside, the non-OEM batteries worked after the firmware update.So, this OEM battery is expensive, but in some situations, there is no substitute for the real thing.

It's a battery. It does battery things.
This is indeed an honest-to-goodness GoPro battery. It holds its charge as it should, and performs as it should. Not a whole lot else to say really.Well, I guess I could say that it tastes terrible, but I wouldn't recommend trying that for yourself. Also: Do not flush.

Used a couple of times since purchasing this replacement for an older GoPro and it works fine.

This is a legit GoPro battery.
It does fit my Hero 7. It also just isn't great.I bought this cause I thought the batteries that came with my used unit were bad with now fast they died.Apparently that's just a Hero 7 thing. They get extremely hot and it kills them.Now I basically run without a battery and plugged into a charger cord.

I bought it on Aug 10, 2017 for $15.99, today is Sunday, December 18th 2022 and it costs $39.95.
A GoPro battery that held charge pretty good, even though my GoPro camera was hacked as soon as I put the battery in. Once I realized my camera was hacked, I noticed it got very hot and battery was depleted. It was charged100% when I put it in. It was a good battery, that lasted long and held charge allowing hackers to play with it, but for current price two batteries not one should be included.I bought it on Aug 10, 2017 for $15.99, today is Sunday, December 18th 2022 and it costs $39.95.

GoPro quit making batteries for your camera 6 years ago. Now they're all dead.
The battery was totally dead. It said 2019 on it. Amazon replaced it with another dead battery that said 2019 on it. Apparently GoPro quit making replacement batteries for my camera 6 years ago and now all the batteries in stock are dead. Amazon did not give the option of replacing the second one. A refund was the only option. The second battery came from a different city than the first one. Newer GoPro cameras use more power and overheat and won't do what I need them to do (make long videos).
