Q: Can this really hold 200lbs?

Seth, i can not verify that it will hold 200 lbs. as i did not try that, but i can tell you when you get close to the metal you are attaching it to, don't have your fingers between it. they are super strong

Q: If usning to mount a fishfinder transducer to kayak do I need two magnets, or just one and a piece of metal?

I would think one would do the job. This magnet is very powerful and I find it attaches securely to most metal.

Q: What is the north/ south pole orientation ? is it on top and bottom ? i am trying to use for a levitation project. thanks!

I have mine mounted with an eyebolt so I can't tell if there's any top/bottom field orientation. I don't think so. I also don't think there's any left/right field orientation because -- round. Just an incredibly strong pull straight up. I have to be super careful not to put it down on, say, a metal picnic table. Because when they say it can lift 500 lbs they are NOT KIDDING. If I had it to do over, I think I'd actually buy the smaller version.
