This is a great box set celebrating 50 years of Emerson,Lake and Palmer,it was originally released in 2017 but quickly went out of print and became very expensive and hard to get.Fortunately BMG decided to re-release it last year at a much more reasonable price.You get all 11 studio albums plus 5 additional live concerts on CD and also a triple vinyl live album from Rome and Milan together with a hardback book and memorabilia pack.Quality wise it's a mixed bag ,the outer box is very sturdy but the CD's storage isn't very good - just 4 compartments and the discs fall out at the slightest sideways movement.The vinyl record's outer jacket is also very fragile(mine's already slightly torn )having to bear the weight of 3 lp's .Overall the music is superb, all the discs are remastered and sound great - highly recommended.

ELP were my favourite bands back in the day, I purchased anything and everything which featured the tremendous trio. Sadly I never got to see them live and i dearly wish I could find a DVD format of the Old Grey Whistle Test special which followed ELP on the road during one of their epic tours.I nearly missed this box set and it was by pure chance that I spotted it but as soon as I did I wanted it and ordered it promptly. It was delivered in double quick time and i am exceedingly overjoyed to own. So much which I don’t already possess so it’s a must for any ELP fan, on the down side I now have a copy of Love Beach, a album which I swore would never come into my collection, I still cringe even now when I see Emerson Lake & Palmer looking like the Bee Gees. Sadly it was the album which broke the camels back and I never bought another ELP album again. With the sad passing of the legendary Keith Emerson and Greg Lake the back catalogue has rekindled my love of ELP and this box set is largely a big bonus for me.Yes the packaging looks cool on the exterior but it’s let down by the interior packaging which is a bit shambolic when you get to the CDs as they shift about within the packaging.It’s a lot of money and it would have been good if more care hand been taken in the interior design but that aside I am pleased to have and once more bring the musical talents of ELP (well at least until the dreaded Love Beach).

I love a box set and this IS a stunning box set. 16cd's and various bits and bobs,a triple album and a more than decent book.All the ELP you need in the one place in a large sturdy box. Sound quality excellent. The music contained,by three virtuoso's,for the most part outstanding (Love Beach may take time to love ha ha).Still it would be churlish to not give this set 5 stars.

I have other ELP box sets, as well as most of their musical history on CD, Vinyl and digital platforms. But, as a huge fan from years gone by I needed to get this version and I wasn't disappointed! The quality of the box set is superb. Yes, the CD covers are a tad basic, but the main albums are all there and the covers are a by-product I feel. The bonus of the additional CD recordings are fantastic. I remember watching the OGWT programmes at the time and to hear them now on CD is brilliant. Plus the live Birmingham Symphony Hall disc is a personal favourite as I was there myself in 1992!! The triple live vinyl is also a great new addition to the ELP back catalogue. If you're a fan, I can't recommend this box set highly enough.

Great box set for the price. The first issue was pricey alas due to demand re-issed.

ELP en su plenitud técnica en vivo!!!!

Dopo anni ho ceduto all’acquisto!Anche perché Amazon ha proposto davvero un buon prezzo per la portata del contenuto di questo stupendo box set.Curato e presentato davvero bene,con la chicca del triplo vinile Live in Roma e Milano 1973 (mai uscito prima) due singles originali, un Blu-ray con i remix di Steven Wilson e di Jakko Jakszyk di ELP, Tarkus, Trilogy e BSS, libri e poster bellissimi ed altri piacevoli contenuti! Per non parlare dell’intera discografia della band rimasterizzata in cd e altri 5 cd di concerti live inediti e masterizzati, a mio avviso tutti e 5 dall’audio buono, interessante il concerto del 1972 Pocono International Raceway.L’unica nota dolente forse riguarda le nuove rimasterizzazioni degli 11 album storici qui contenuti, generalmente ben fatte eccetto quelle dei primi album in ordine cronologico, dove alcune dinamiche degli strumenti mi sembrano essere cambiate in peggio rispetto ai master originali.. almeno per le mie orecchie.In ogni caso consiglio a chi già possiede le vecchie versioni in cd dei primi 4 o 5 album degli ELP (soprattutto quelle della Castle Music, Sanctuary, Rhino) di tenersele strette, almeno fino ad eventuali prossime rimasterizzazioni, senza nulla togliere al lavoro svolto dall’ottimo Andy Pearce.Un altro aspetto vorrei evidenziarlo per coloro che si sono giustamente lamentati del fatto che in questo box set non sono stati inseriti il Works Live ed il Live at the Royal Albert Hall, oppure anche i famosi Isle of Wight Festival 1970 e California Jam ‘74… Ebbene si tratta delle solite mosse di marketing attuate dalle compagnie.. difatti dopo qualche anno dall’uscita di questo box set, nel 2021 è uscito il cofanetto Out of this World contenente diversi concerti live, ancora tutti nuovamente rimasterizzati dove (guarda caso strano) sono stati inseriti i 4 concerti che ho menzionato.Comunque questo Fanfare 1970-97 nonostante qualche inevitabile critica è meritevole di 5 stelle, sono soddisfatto ed è un must have per chi ha nel sangue gli ELP!Ottima spedizione da parte di amazon
