GYMENIST Kettlebell Fitness Iron Weights with Neoprene Coating Around The Bottom Half of The Metal Kettle Bell

I'm just starting out using kettlebells. I'm 51 and have very little strength. I decided to purchase a 12 lb and 15 lb bell. I liked the idea of having a wrap around the bottom of the bell to protect my floor. I read a lot of articles on the best kettlebells and the two highest rated was Rep Fitness and Kettlebell Kings. However, they were very pricey and since I am just starting out, I didn't want to pay that much. I purchased the 12 lb GYMENIST and the 15 lb Amazon Basics. I'm going to compare both of them and hopefully this helps someone when considering future purchases.GYMENIST ProsNeoprene Coating is thinner than vinyl coating (Amazon Basics) so when your fingers touch the neoprene it isn't as rough or as uncomfortable than the thicker vinyl coatingCost (both Gymenist and Amazon Basics were comparable in costs - about a 1/3 of the cost of Rep or Kings)Gymenist ConsSharp edges on handle. The black paint on the handle was chipped and there's a very sharp edge right on the side/center of the handle where you would naturally grip. I could probably sand it down, but then that would further remove the paint.Handle is thick. The Gymenist is the lighter and smaller of the two kettlebells (12 lbs) but the handle is slightly thicker than the 15 lb AB kettlebell. I feel like my hands are a normal size but I definitely prefer the thinner handle from Amazon Basics.I don't think I'm going to keep either kettlebell. The sharp edges of the Gymenist and the uncomfortableness of the vinyl coating on the Amazon Basics just don't lend itself to using these long term.

Small gash at bottom curve in neoprene of kb likely to worsen.I don’t mind the imperfection line in the neoprene at bottom of kettlebell (see pic), but the stains and holes are concerning.I like the handle circumference. Handle is small in width though, and not that smooth. I like the texture a little, but it’s more of a rusty rough feeling on the underside and side of the handle.I found a few small burrs throughout the handle, a little irritating during tests swings and cleans with no gloves.No bubble wrap with this packaging- only a box inside of a box, with a plastic bag over it. They need to package their products better and better smooth out the handle.

I saw one reviewer claim it was too small???It is sort of small, but I like that because I can swing it around without worrying about clocking my cats in the head. The grip is fairly wide. But this is made for women. We have smaller hands.Oh. And I weighed it. It is indeed seven pounds. Mine is clean ava easy to grip unless I stupidly put lotion on first. Won't do that again.I'm happy with it.

I purchased the 12lb GYMENIST Kettlebell to use while rehabbing my rotator cuff & bicep. I have a very diverse set of kettlebells in my home gym. This is the only GYMENIST kettlebell in the Set & the only one w/a neoprene coating. I do have a few w/plastic coatings which is harder & smoother/slicker than the neoprene. I found the neoprene coating around the bottom half of the kettlebell to be a nice feature. This makes the kettlebell very comfortable & improves gripping when holding the bell around the base (ball portion) w/sweaty hands/fingers. There are no seams visible on the kettlebell nor any sharp or protruding imperfections from casting.

This was such a great buy! I was sceptical at first because I thought it was a little pricy but once I received it I was so happy I went through with this purchase. I used it today during my workout and it is made perfectly. I purchased the 15 lb but will purchase the 20lb next. I'm glad I went with this one and not the other one I found on Amazon for 19$. You get what you pay for! Great buy ! Great product ! Size is perfect. I have small hands and it was just right for me!

I had no idea it would be so difficult to shop for kettlebells! I finally had to resort to looking online and this was exactly what I needed for just the right price! Some of the moves I do require you to hold the bell upside down which is why I searched for neoprene. I thought it would be easier to grip and it is except the shape of the bell makes it hard to hold onto sometimes. For swings it's perfect.

Exactly as described & shown - I have (I think) normal sized hands for an adult woman, it may be difficult for someone to hold this kettlebell with both hands as it's a bit snug for me. Otherwise, it's perfect for my workouts. I love the neoprene cover since I use it at home and don't want metal to scratch my floor if I set it down anywhere.

I have only ordered this is a 12lb. so far and I really like it. I am a woman with small hands and the handle is the perfect size for me and it has a smooth finish. I also love the Neoprene coating on these because when I use them for various workouts it is easier for me to hold and also not as hard when it hits my wrists. These are try favorite out of all of the kettlebell brands that I have tried.

Arrived with a substantial burr and really sharp point that interferes with usage. Going to keep it and file it down (which will take away some of the paint). Unfortunately, 12lb kettle bells are hard to find or I would return it.

Bought it since we’re all force inside for social distancing. It’s a nice replacement from the the dumbbells I use at the gym. I like using kettlebell exercises for fitness. I plan on extending my collection if we’re inside for much longer
