It starts to work as soon as it is put in the tank. Remember you will empty your tanks\nevery few days depending on the size of your tank. I always flush my tank with fresh water when I empty black water tank, and then refill it\nwith about 5 or 6 gallons of fresh water and add another Porta-Pak tablet. You never want your black water tank to dry out because there will always be some waste left in the tank. By adding a little water and another tablet this should dissolve any remaining paper and other solid waste and avoid having a stinking mess."}}]}]}
