Don't waste your money
This was a nightmare to fight with. When I wasn't trying to decipher the vague instructions I was fighting with a wifi based control system. When I did get picture I had no sound and the lights didn't sync. Ended up fighting with it for an hour and a half before I packed it back up and returned it. Don't waste your money.

perfect
I have used a few different versions of Immersion lighting from different companies and this Urquhart box is definitely the best. The huge advantage of this box is that there's no camera like the Govee system so it can be hidden behind the TV perfectly. There is almost no delay on when colors change in sync mode and plus, 6 different nice ambient effects for chilling time. For disadvantage part, it does take me some time to install all parts which I didn’t expect. However, when everything is plugged and connected correctly, you will find out it is a WORTH and GREAT value for the money! High recommended!!!

Fun when it works! Doesn't work with Dolby Vision or TrueHD 7.1
If you haven't experienced an LED backlight that syncs to what you have on screen, you are missing out! There are a few devices out there that allows you to experience that. Some use a camera to capture what is on screen and sync that. Frankly, that seems too clunky to me. I much prefer this other method of taking an hdmi signal and using that to sync the LED backlight. This product does that. When it works, it's pretty fun and adds a nice dimension to your movies. Unfortunately, this device just has many bugs to consistently deliver that experience.First know that if you do want to try out this product, there are a few limitations that you need to be aware of. There are a few limits that will require you to get extra equipment to make your experience work. Here were my requirements that this device was not able to meet, either with the provided hdmi splitter or with the device itself.HDMI-CEC - This is a must. HDMI CEC allows all devices to communicate with one another and allow interactivity. For instance, if you turn of your device, your tv turns off as well. When you wake your device up, your tv turns on and sets the correct input. This technology allows you to use just one remote instead of needing to have three separate remotes. It's a key ingredient to having a wife friendly setup.Dolby Vision or HDR - sure, the switch supports 4k. But it doesn't support any of these new technologies. Which is unfortunate. In Plex, none of my dolby vision videos are playable. Most just have a snowy image. In other apps, such as Disney+ or Netflix, you will notice the Dolby Vision or UltraHD options have suddenly vanished. You're left with simple HDDolby TrueHD 7.1- Movies with this sound format do not output any sound. 5.1 with Atmos does work, however. All of these limits can be overcome, however, by getting a different switch. You'll want to find one that has the ability to downgrade the 2nd output to 1080p. Not all 4k content is supported by the device itself.Other cons to consider with this setup. The device that syncs the video to the light is simply an android device with an LED output. The android device runs an app called Movie Player when it starts up. This app then takes an HDMI signal and rebroadcasts it as an LED light sequence. The issue that I have is that the movie player app constantly crashed on me. When it crashes, the led lights are white and orange, because that is the background of the android OS of the device. It happens randomly: sometimes 5-15 minutes into the movie. The easiest thing for me to do is to restart the android device (which is done by unplugging it).Another issue I have with this is that it doesn't permanently join your own wifi network. You have to disconnect from your network and join a wifi hotspot that the device broadcasts. You then make your change and then reconnect to your wifi network again. It's a pain in the butt, since you have to access the app if you switch a lot between a widescreen format or a full screen format. For widescreen, you have to shrink the lines in the app. Otherwise, the top and bottom of the LED string mirror the black bars. It would be nice to have this android device joined to the network so I can make these changes without having to disconnect my wifi on my phone. The other issue I have with this, is there is no way to turn off the device! You have to manually unplug the device if you aren't using it. Otherwise, the android device has a no signal screen and the LEDs all shine blue. I had to put a WIFI power switch on it so I could turn it on/off with Alexa.I've currently in conversation with the developer of the app, and they don't seem to have an answer to the app constantly crashing. So unfortunately, this might be the right solution to go with. All in all, the idea is good, but given how unstable this is and the lack of features in most of today's TV, it might be best to look at other devices that do the same thing.

Needs a better app.
These TV immersion lights were very easy to install. The instructions were so easy to follow and within 10 minutes of opening the box and starting the installation process, I was able to start using the immersion lights. I think the lights work great and I love the scene selection lights. It has about 6 to 8 scenes that you can pick from or you can customize a color and the brightness which is very helpful since you can't turn off the immersion lights if you want to watch whatever your streaming. Granted they do give you an HDMI splitter box but it's bulky and is hard to understand and work correctly. I also have lots of trouble with the app on my cell phone. The first night that I said everything up and downloaded the app to my cell phone it worked perfectly fine but I was disappointed that after trying multiple times the following day it would not connect. I was able to use my tablet to connect through the app but it wouldn't stay connected. I would still have to continually go into my Wi-Fi settings and connect to the actual immersion light box. It would get a little frustrating especially if I didn't want the lights on but wanted to watch the TV. My solution to this was to use the app to customize a one color scene and reduce the brightness all the way so that I wouldn't have to have such bright lights when that was something that I wasn't looking for at that time. The great thing about these lights though is that you can use them as scenery lights rather than just for your TV so you don't have to be watching TV to have them on and you can have them on different combinations of colors that rotate or flash which I think is really cool.Again the only real complaint that I have is about the app itself because it's just very basic and a little hard to navigate. I understand that it's a new app and only has about 12 downloads on Google Play store but hopefully in the future it will be updated and will have better integration.

Difficult setting up
The instructions (as others have said) are very difficult to understand, and i have alot of experience putting together tech related stuff. It was very vague on the box but if you watch the video they have in the pictures for this you'll get it eventually.I don't like that you have to connect to the devices "WiFi" just to change the colors or brightness as i'm always connected to my home wifi since my signals bad where i live.I will say though that these lights are brighter than any lights i've had for the back of a TV.With that being said, unfortunately it's super laggy when you're on the mode where it mimics the light by area which is the main reason i got this. I now only use it for solid color which is sad considering the price of this product.Hopefully this is something they can fix with an update.
