Not a good solution
Buy the mini-DP to DP cable instead of this. It's a great idea as a concept but the execution where this adapter on the tiny mini-dp interface hangs out (because of the length of the adapter build which needs to be shortened) puts too much leverage on the port with a quality DP cable attached. This means it won't last, and the construction quality process was not up to it. Both of the adapters in my 2 pack are trash now, only worked briefly due to the inferior quality in the design process. I'm sad because the idea is great and useful, but the execution was flawed in the design and build quality.

Did not work on Surface Pro 4 or AMD HD 7950 at 2k or 4k resolution.
The adapter fit the mini dp port and 15' displayport cable but did not output video. Replacing the Poyiccot adapter with a Cable Matters mini dp to dp adapter or Toptrend mini dp to dp cable worked for both SP4 and HD 7950 on HD (1920x1200) and UWQHD (3440x1440) monitors. I tried both Poyiccot adapters, neither worked. Returned for refund.

Great price but bad quality
Great price considering it's pack of two. However, when trying to use it with an active DP to HDMI cable, the light on the active cable keeps intermittently on/off and no signal detected on the HDMI port end. I replaced it with another brand's DP mini to DP adapter, everything works flawlessly.
