Beehive Sugar Dispenser

I thought I might enjoy a diner type sugar dispenser, so after looking at the ones available here on Amazon (most of them cheaper, almost half of the price of this one at the time), I thought maybe this was a nicer, better quality version. No. It might even be worse. The problem is the flimsy top. Mine came pre-dented. I have to be very careful or the top will pop off even after being screwed down. I know one day I'm going to get a mug full of sugar when the top comes off unexpectedly. I know this isn't an expensive item, and I didn't expect too much, but there is about as much glass and metal in the product as there is in a pickle jar . . . and the pickle jar is higher quality! Hmmm, that's an idea, I might wash out a pickle jar and punch a hole in the lid and use in instead of this dispenser. At least the lid would stay on.

Looks good. But screw-on lid must not be airtight, because the coconut sugar I keep in it becomes a solid block and I have to unscrew the lid and spoon it out since it no longer pours. Would probably work great with refined white sugar. I like the way it looks so am keeping it.

Lid wouldn't tighten, falling off when turned over. Totallt dysfunctional as it has to be turned over to dispense sugar. Lid made of cheapest metal. Working versions might be found at a dollar store, not for $8.

Nice heavy glass. Love the bee hive design. Easy to fill. Nice size pour spout. Fast shipping.Great product for the price!
